This panel is located on the side of your CPU unit (E1-4-X, E1-4-E OR E1-4-ELITE). If you remove this panel you will see all the wiring, also you can see the controller board(E1-4CBU) mounted inside. You should keep this panel intact on the machine to help keep tape dust away from the electrical components.
