The tie plate is essential. You can find it if you lift the Back Cover (EM1-2) and look straight. It is a metal piece holding the left and right side frames with 4 screws. This tie plate stabilizes your machine when in use. It is found on all our Phoenix machines including the Phoenix M1 and PE1, PE2 and PE4-E.
